Job Role

Engage, win & retain Customers for SMS Magic messaging solutions. We believe in consultative selling and run a tight Sales process with the best state of the art Sales tools across the funnel.

Build and run a Sales team in the US and deliver Sales targets to the tune of $2 million in the first year and at least double if not more in the coming 2 years.

Over a period of time, manage a team of AE’s, SE’s and Account Managers to serve customers.

Build and manage a pipeline of Prospects to deliver consistent results

Consistently forecast monthly and quarterly performance within a 10-20% margin of error from actual bookings.

Network and create opportunities within the ecosystems like Salesforce SI and ISV Partners, plus specific industry communities in our target market.

Work actively with Partner, manage relationships and create continuous opportunities.

Work with the India based Customer Success and Development teams to service customer requirements. Work with our US based VP Marketing to identify Market opportunities, work with large/medium customers and partners to create relevant Sales Playbooks and collaterals.

Understand the customer’s Sales and Marketing process and suggest/consult them on best Messaging programs.

Evangelize SMS Magic as a solution with customers, across networking forums, groups and communities.

Qualifications

Minimum 7-8 years hands-on prior work experience with SaaS sales

Prefer at least 3 years successfully running a sales organization (team)

Love crushing goals and quotas

We live, eat and breath data and insights. We are a Analytics 2.0 company and it flows through our product, the way we run our company rhythms and monthly meetings. You should be a champion of Sales data and analysis. You should also be able to look at Customer’s SMS Magic dashboard and make sense of what’s happening -  Which Campaigns are performing, who are their most responsive sales guys etc.

Agile, Nimble, and energetic - The are the hallmarks of a magician. Nimble but long term planning, quick and agile execution which can be measured on a day to day basis.

Strong team player - We have cross geographic teams and in different time zones - So we need leaders of men, who can coordinate and work with people across cultures, time zones and ethnicities.

Opportunity

Messaging is growing exponentially and has become a mainstream communication channel for businesses particularly in the B2C domain. SMS is a spontaneity and direct response channel receive instant attention and a typical campaign get about 40% response rate on text messages, compared to 2 or 3% on emails. We expect this trend to continue for the next 10 years with other messaging enhancements like RCS, Facebook messaging and other channels becoming a part of mainstream business messaging. SMS magic is rightly positioned to serve businesses and help them engage win and retain customers. We partner with leading CRM’s like salesforce.com and Zoho amongst others to enable customers to run messaging campaigns and drive conversations from them. The market for messaging solutions on CRM is huge and opportunity could itself create a new category in the communication or marketing space. The person we hire as our Director of Sales will be our first hire in the US and that would be leading our efforts in the territory. We have been in business for last 10 years and serve more than 800 to 900 customers in the United States alone. The DoS will be the first hire but will serve a market where we are known and have some traction and reference customers. He/she can leverage our business relationships with partners, key customers and partners like Salesforce. The person should be a savvy networker who can drive business from a variety of sources and be able to deliver targets.

Being the first Sales hire we expect the Director of Sales to share additional responsibility in working with the India based management team, and also understand and workout the nuances that come with a new team in the US. The India based management team will work very closely with the Director of Sales to establish rapport, confidence and credibility with the market and key players in the US.
